Musculoskeletal care in Chiswick, West London

Musculoskeletal (MSK) problems affect the muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, nerves and spine. They are among the most common reasons people in the UK see a GP, and most improve with the right assessment and a structured plan.

At our clinic two minutes from Turnham Green station, HCPC-registered physiotherapists and doctor-led acupuncturists work together. Your first appointment finds the cause of the pain, then treatment combines hands-on therapy with exercise that rebuilds strength, so results last rather than fade.

What we treat

Back pain and sciatica, neck and shoulder pain, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow and carpal tunnel, knee and joint pain, osteoarthritis and arthritis, sports injuries, sprains and strains, headaches, TMJ and jaw pain, and persistent pain conditions such as fibromyalgia and CRPS. Browse the conditions below for detail on each.

How our approach works

Evidence-based physiotherapy and exercise sit at the centre of every plan. Acupuncture, which NICE recognises as an option for chronic primary pain and for preventing migraine and tension-type headache, is added where it helps. Manual therapy, red light therapy and Pixformance guided training support recovery, and we tell you honestly how many sessions your condition is likely to need.

Questions we are asked

Your questions answered

What does an MSK clinic treat?

An MSK clinic treats problems with muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, nerves and the spine, such as back and neck pain, sciatica, joint pain, arthritis, sports injuries and repetitive strain. At Omnia in Chiswick this is led by physiotherapy, with acupuncture and manual therapy where they help.

Do I need a GP referral for physiotherapy or acupuncture?

No. You can book physiotherapy or acupuncture directly online at our Chiswick W4 clinic. If you are claiming on health insurance, check whether your insurer needs a GP referral or an authorisation code first.

Is acupuncture recommended for chronic pain?

NICE guidance says a course of acupuncture can be considered for chronic primary pain, and for preventing migraine and tension-type headache. It is not recommended for osteoarthritis or low back pain on its own, so we use it alongside physiotherapy where the evidence supports it.

When is pain a medical emergency?

Call 999 or go to A&E for back pain with numbness around the genitals, new bladder or bowel problems or weakness in both legs, for chest pain spreading to the arm or jaw, or for a hot, swollen joint with fever.
