Why Omnia Lifestyle
Why people come
The mechanism
Ayurveda works by identifying imbalances in the body's three functional energies, the doshas Vata, Pitta and Kapha, which shape digestion, sleep, energy and temperament. Through a detailed consultation, including pulse and tongue diagnosis, your Ayurvedic doctor assesses your constitution and the imbalances behind your symptoms.
Treatment then works on several levels at once: therapies such as warm oil massage and Shirodhara calm the nervous system and support circulation, diet and daily routine correct the patterns feeding the imbalance, and herbal support is added where appropriate. The aim is to address the cause, not only the symptom you arrived with.

Who it helps

What to expect
Your first visit is a consultation with an Ayurvedic doctor covering your health history, digestion, sleep, energy, lifestyle and goals, with pulse and tongue diagnosis to assess your constitution. Your doctor explains what they have found and creates a plan, which may include therapies, dietary and routine changes and herbal support.
Treatments such as Abhyanga and Shirodhara take place in a warm, private room and are deeply relaxing; many people describe feeling calmer and clearer immediately afterwards. Some notice improvement quickly, while longer-standing patterns benefit from a structured course reviewed at each visit.

Questions
Shirodhara is an Ayurvedic therapy in which warm herbal oil is poured in a continuous, gentle stream across the forehead for 30 to 45 minutes. It is used for stress, anxiety, insomnia, headaches and an overactive mind, and most people find it profoundly calming. Small studies report reduced anxiety and better sleep after a course. It is usually given in a series of three to seven sessions.
Panchakarma is Ayurveda's structured cleansing and rebalancing programme. Over several days to weeks it combines preparatory oil therapies and diet with a sequence of cleansing procedures, followed by a rebuilding phase. It is used for long-standing imbalance, chronic conditions and as a periodic reset. It should only be undertaken under an Ayurvedic doctor, with the programme tailored to you.
A dosha is one of three functional patterns Ayurveda uses to describe how a body and mind tend to work: Vata (movement, lightness, dryness), Pitta (heat, metabolism, intensity) and Kapha (structure, stability, moisture). Everyone has all three in a unique proportion, which is their constitution. Imbalance in one or more doshas is how Ayurveda explains symptoms and guides diet, routine and treatment.
Partly. Several elements of Ayurveda have good modern evidence: yoga and meditation for stress and pain, breathing practices for anxiety, regular routine for sleep, and specific herbs such as ashwagandha and turmeric in clinical trials. Ayurveda as a complete system has been studied less rigorously. It is best understood as a practical framework whose components are increasingly supported, not as a proven cure for specific diseases.
A first Ayurvedic consultation is a detailed conversation about your health history, digestion, sleep, energy, stress and daily routine, followed by observation and pulse assessment to understand your constitution and current imbalance. You leave with a personalised plan covering diet, routine and, where appropriate, herbal preparations and therapies. Allow 60 to 90 minutes.
Ayurveda places stress and the mind at the centre of health, and its tools for it are practical: daily routine, sleep timing, breathing practices, meditation, calming oil therapies such as Shirodhara and Abhyanga, and herbs traditionally used for the nervous system. Small trials support several of these for stress, anxiety and sleep. It complements rather than replaces psychological therapy or medication where those are needed.
Usually, yes, and that is where most of the benefit comes from. Ayurveda treats diet and daily routine as medicine, so your practitioner will suggest changes to what, when and how you eat, your sleep timing and your daily rhythm, tailored to your constitution. The changes are usually gradual and practical rather than a complete overhaul.
At Omnia, we assess your unique constitution (dosha), lifestyle and health concerns.
Based on this, we tailor treatments, herbal recommendations and therapies specifically to your needs.
Modern medicine diagnoses and treats specific diseases, usually with drugs or procedures targeted at the symptom or its immediate cause. Ayurveda assesses your constitution, digestion, sleep, stress and daily habits, and treats through diet, lifestyle, herbal preparations and therapies aimed at restoring balance. They are not rivals: Ayurveda is most useful alongside conventional care, particularly for long-term and lifestyle-related conditions.
