Small classes, one train away

Richmond branch trains towards Upminster call at Kew Gardens and Gunnersbury, then Turnham Green. No change, and a two-minute walk to the clinic. Mildmay line trains from Richmond and Kew Gardens also stop at Gunnersbury, one District line stop away.

The groups are small, so your teacher can see you, correct your stance and adapt movements around stiff knees, a sore back or a recent joint replacement. Each class pairs qi gong breathing with Wu-style tai chi and ends with a short routine for home.

Tai chi is one of the most studied gentle exercises for balance and joint health. Read what the research shows.

  3. Tai chi, step by step. Wu-style movements taught by demonstration and repetition, with a seated option throughout.
  4. Cool-down and home practice. A short routine you can repeat for ten minutes at home between classes.

Wear loose clothing and flat shoes. No equipment is needed. Read what happens in a tai chi class for more detail.
