Dr. Youzhong Wu was awarded a Bachelor of Clinical Medicine (Hons) in 1992 by the Nanjing Medical University in the People’s Republic of China (PRC). While practising as a doctor, he recognised the limitations of conventional medicine in offering holistic solutions to address health problems, especially in the area of pain relief. To further his knowledge and expertise, Professor Wu enrolled in the prestigious Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in 1997, graduating first with a Bachelor of Science in 1999 and then a Master of Science in 2004. His field of study encompassed all aspects of TCM, including herbal medicine, traditional Acupuncture, Tui Na, cupping, Tai Chi, and Qigong.
As a trained expert and practitioner of both Clinical Medicine and TCM, Dr. Wu is exceptionally qualified to offer unique solutions for pain relief and management by blending the two disciplines and adopting the best treatment options for his clients. He combines his treatments with lifestyle support and advice involving the immense healing potential of the fitness and well-being practices of Tai Chi and Qigong. He is a recognised master of both ancient exercise forms.
Dr. Wu firmly believes in the power of self-healing by empowering people to treat themselves after they receive treatments such as Acupuncture from him. Rooted in this philosophy is the belief that health and well-being can only be achieved through a synchronisation of mind and body. He advocates Tai Chi and Qigong as useful lifestyle practices to adopt in combination with his TCM therapy. Dr. Wu conducts classes for his patients on the health aspects of Tai Chi, and his teaching focuses on the hand form, Qigong exercises, and meditation.
Dr. Wu has been a member of the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ATCM), UK, Shanghai Medical Association, and Shanghai Chen Style Tai Chi Association. Professor Wu regularly lectures local GPs in TCM and contributes to medical journals, with several articles to his name in TCM literature. He holds the post of Director of the Clinical Teaching Department at the UK Academy of Chinese Medicine. He has also been a professional Tai Chi and Qigong trainer since 1994, having received several prestigious accolades and prizes for his mastery of these traditional art forms.

Triggered my lower back and visited Mr Wu for the first time. I now call this place Hogwarts! I left standing tall and pain free after one session of acupuncture and a massage. Great service, excellent expertise.
