Small classes, direct on the District line

From Ealing Broadway, trains towards Upminster call at Ealing Common, Acton Town and Chiswick Park before Turnham Green, so it is one train with no change. From Ealing Common it is three stops.

Our groups are small, so you get a teacher who corrects your knees and back, adapts stances for arthritis or a replaced hip, and gives you a short routine for home. Every class combines qi gong breathing with Wu-style tai chi.

Coming from South Ealing or Northfields? Take the Piccadilly line to Acton Town and change to an eastbound District line train for two stops.

Your first class

Your first class

An hour of slow, careful practice. Nobody expects you to remember the movements at first.

  1. Arrive and settle. Your teacher asks about any joint, balance or health concerns, so stances can be adapted from the start.
  2. Qi gong warm-up. Gentle loosening movements and slow breathing to settle the body and mind.
  3. Tai chi, step by step. Wu-style movements taught by demonstration and repetition, with a seated option throughout.
  4. Cool-down and home practice. A short routine you can repeat for ten minutes at home between classes.

Wear loose clothing and flat shoes. No equipment is needed. Read what happens in a tai chi class for more detail.
