The short version

How do you tighten loose skin after weight loss?

Quick answer. Mild to moderate loose skin after weight loss often improves with time, strength training, enough protein and treatments that stimulate collagen, such as LPG Endermologie. A course of sessions can firm and smooth the skin and improve its texture. Large folds of excess skin after very major weight loss do not respond fully to any non-surgical treatment, and a plastic surgeon is the right person to ask about removal.

Why fast weight loss can leave loose skin

Skin stretches gradually as weight goes on, and its collagen and elastin fibres lose some of their spring. When weight comes off quickly, as it often does on GLP-1 medicines such as semaglutide (Wegovy and Ozempic) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro), the skin has less time to shrink back.

How much it does depends on your age, how much weight you lose, how long you carried it, sun damage, smoking and your genes. Losing muscle as well as fat also changes your contour, which is why protein and strength training matter so much during weight loss.

Skin does keep remodelling for months after weight loss, so it is worth giving it help rather than waiting. Omnia does not prescribe weight-loss medication; keep your prescriber informed about any treatment you have. If your face is changing too, read our guide to Mounjaro face.

What helps

Six things that help skin catch up

  • Lose weight steadily where you and your prescriber can manage it, rather than as fast as possible.
  • Eat enough protein at every meal to protect muscle and give the skin what it needs to rebuild.
  • Lift weights or do resistance exercise two or three times a week to fill out the shape under the skin.
  • Drink enough water, especially if your appetite is low on medication.
  • Protect your skin from the sun and avoid smoking, which both break down collagen.
  • Stimulate collagen directly with a course of treatment such as LPG Endermologie.
Where we treat

Loose skin treatment, area by area

The Cellu M6 Infinity has different treatment heads for large and delicate areas, so one plan can cover several.

Stomach and waist

Crepey or loose skin around the navel and lower abdomen, after weight loss or pregnancy.

Upper arms

Softness under the arms, where skin is thin and slow to tighten on its own.

Inner thighs and knees

Loose skin and dimpling, often worked together with cellulite protocols.

Buttocks

Skin that has lost lift and firmness as volume has gone.

Back and bra line

Softer skin and small folds around the back and sides.

Face, jawline and neck

Volume loss and slackness, treated with a fine facial head. See our non-surgical facelift.

Setting expectations

Is LPG right for your loose skin?

We would rather tell you honestly at your Discovery Session than sell you a course that cannot work.

How your skin looksWhat to expect
Mild: crepey, slightly soft skinA good candidate. Most people see firmer, smoother skin over a course.
Moderate: soft folds that move when you doA realistic improvement in firmness and texture over a longer course, with maintenance.
Severe: an apron or overhang of skinA surgical opinion is the right first step. LPG can support skin quality around it, and after surgery once your surgeon agrees.

Your first visit

Your Discovery Session: 60 minutes, £99

  1. Consultation. Your goals, your health history, any medication and what you have already tried.
  2. Assessment. Skin quality, priority areas and measurements, with photographs and a Styku 3D scan where useful, so progress is measured rather than guessed.
  3. A full treatment. Not a demonstration. You change into the Endermowear body suit and have a proper session, face, body or both.
  4. An honest plan. What is realistic, roughly how many sessions it would take, and whether LPG suits you at all.

We can add a Styku 3D body scan to track your shape as your weight changes, so you can see the difference in measurements as well as in the mirror.

Questions

Loose skin and weight-loss injection questions

Can LPG tighten loose skin after Mounjaro or Wegovy?

LPG Endermologie can firm and smooth mild to moderate loose skin after weight loss, including weight loss on Mounjaro, Wegovy or Ozempic. It stimulates the cells that make collagen and elastin, so the improvement builds over a course of sessions. It cannot remove large folds of excess skin.

Should I wait until I have finished losing weight?

You do not have to. Many people start while they are still losing weight, so the skin is supported as their shape changes, and others start once their weight is stable. We ask about your medication and health at your Discovery Session and plan around them.

Is LPG safe while I am taking weight-loss injections?

LPG is a mechanical treatment, so it does not interact with medicines the way another drug might. We still ask about every medicine you take and any side effects. If you are unwell, dehydrated or have other medical conditions, we may ask you to check with your prescriber first.

How many sessions will I need for loose skin?

Most people notice firmer, smoother skin after six to eight weekly sessions, and a full course is often ten to twelve, followed by occasional maintenance. Your therapist gives you an honest estimate after assessing your skin.

Does it work on a loose stomach?

Yes, the stomach is one of the most common areas we treat, along with the arms, inner thighs, knees and jawline. Results depend on how much loose skin there is and on your skin quality.

Will LPG remove excess skin?

No. Overhanging folds of skin after very large weight loss need a surgical opinion, and only a plastic surgeon can remove skin. LPG can still help the quality and texture of the skin around those areas, and after surgery once your surgeon agrees.

How much does loose skin treatment cost?

Your first visit is a 60-minute Discovery Session for £99, including a consultation, an assessment and a full treatment. Follow-up sessions are £70 for 35 minutes, £100 for 50 minutes and £120 for 60 minutes, and you pay after each treatment.
