The short version

How can I tighten loose skin on my stomach?

Quick answer. Mild to moderate loose skin on the stomach can look firmer and smoother after a course of non-surgical treatment. At Omnia Lifestyle in Chiswick W4 that means LPG Endermologie, usually weekly, with most people noticing change after 6 to 8 sessions. Hanging skin needs a surgical opinion, because only surgery removes excess skin.
Be honest about the skin

What helps depends on how loose the skin is

Your therapist assesses this at your first visit. As a guide:

Mild

Crepey or slightly soft skin around the navel and lower stomach. A good fit for LPG, with firmer, smoother skin the aim over a course.

Moderate

Soft folds that move when you do. A realistic improvement in firmness and texture is possible, over a longer course with maintenance.

Hanging skin

An apron or overhang of skin. LPG will not fix this. A surgical opinion is the right first step, and only a surgeon can remove skin.

Skin or fat? Loose skin feels thin and wrinkles when pinched. If what you can hold is thicker, it may be fat, and LPG is not a weight loss treatment. It also does not close a gap in the stomach muscles. We will tell you honestly which of these you are looking at.
Without surgery

How to tighten skin on your stomach without surgery

No single step does it all. These work best together, and results vary.

  • Keep your weight steady. Skin responds better once your weight has settled. If your loose skin follows major weight change, read loose skin after weight loss.
  • Train your core and strength. Muscle under the skin gives a firmer base, although exercise does not shrink stretched skin.
  • Protect your skin. Not smoking and looking after your skin help slow further loss of firmness.
  • Have a course of LPG. Motorised rollers and controlled suction work on the skin and the tissue beneath it, with no needles, heat or downtime. Sessions are usually weekly, then monthly to maintain results.
  • Know the cost. £99 for your 60-minute Discovery Session, then follow-ups from £70 for 35 minutes. Follow-up length depends on the areas treated.

After pregnancy

Loose stomach skin after pregnancy

LPG is not used on the abdomen in pregnancy. After birth, wait until you have had your postnatal check and feel ready. After a caesarean, wait until your scar has healed and your doctor is happy. Tell us if you are breastfeeding.

A loose tummy after pregnancy is not always a skin problem. The NHS says it is common for the two muscles down the middle of the stomach to separate, and that the gap usually goes back to normal by the time your baby is 8 weeks old. If it is still obvious at 8 weeks, contact your GP, who can refer you to a physiotherapist.

LPG will not close that gap. A tummy tuck can repair weak, separated muscles, and the NHS calls it major surgery with a scar across the lower tummy.

The evidence

What the manufacturer's study found

LPG Systems published results from its BeScored study of the Cellu M6 Infinity in 2024. We found no independent trial of LPG for loose stomach skin, and evidence for LPG overall is mixed. Read what the research says.

  • -5.8 cmaverage waist measurement after 12 sessions
  • 92%reported firmer skin

BeScored study, 2024, published by LPG Systems. Manufacturer data, not independent research, and individual results vary. A smaller waist measurement is not the same as tighter skin, and this is not a promise of fat reduction.

Your first visit

Your Discovery Session: 60 minutes, £99

  1. Consultation. Your goals, your health history, any medication and what you have already tried.
  2. Assessment. Skin quality, priority areas and measurements, with photographs and a Styku 3D scan where useful, so progress is measured rather than guessed.
  3. A full treatment. Not a demonstration. You change into the Endermowear body suit and have a proper session, face, body or both.
  4. An honest plan. What is realistic, roughly how many sessions it would take, and whether LPG suits you at all.

Most people come weekly for a course, then monthly to maintain results. See how many Endermologie sessions you need.

  • Discovery Session with consultation and full treatment, 60 min£99
  • Follow-up session, 35 min£70
  • Follow-up session, 45 min£90
  • Follow-up session, 50 min£100
  • Follow-up session, 60 min£120
  • Courses of sessionsonly if you want one

You pay after your treatment, with nothing to pay upfront. Follow-up length depends on the areas treated.

Who this is not for

When LPG is not the right choice

You have hanging skin

Real excess skin needs surgery. If skin hangs, rubs or causes rashes, ask your GP or a plastic surgeon about your options. LPG can support skin quality around the area, and after surgery once your surgeon agrees.

You are pregnant or recently operated on

LPG is not used on the abdomen in pregnancy. After recent surgery, including a caesarean, get your surgeon's or doctor's advice first.

You have a bulge, pain or swelling

See your GP first for a bulge near your belly button or a scar, new stomach pain or unexplained swelling. These need checking, not skin treatment.

LPG is also not used with active cancer, infection, phlebitis or a blood clot, open wounds or inflamed skin. With a circulatory or blood disorder, a pacemaker or an implanted device, get your doctor's advice first.

Questions

Stomach skin tightening questions

What is the best skin tightening treatment for the stomach?

It depends on how loose the skin is. For mild to moderate looseness, non-surgical options such as LPG Endermologie, radiofrequency and laser can help. For hanging skin, a tummy tuck or apronectomy is the only option that removes it.

Can you tighten loose skin on the stomach without surgery?

You can improve mild to moderate looseness, but not remove excess skin. A steady weight, strength training and a course of LPG all help. Most people notice change after 6 to 8 sessions, and results vary.

Can LPG tighten stomach skin after pregnancy?

It can help firm mild to moderate looseness once you are ready. Wait for your postnatal check, and after a caesarean wait until your scar has healed and your doctor is happy.

Is laser skin tightening better for the stomach than LPG?

Neither suits everyone. Laser and radiofrequency use heat, while LPG is mechanical with no heat or downtime. All of them are limited to mild to moderate looseness, and none removes excess skin.

How much does stomach skin tightening cost?

At Omnia in Chiswick W4, your first visit is a 60-minute Discovery Session for £99, including a consultation, an assessment and a full treatment. Follow-ups start at £70 for 35 minutes. You pay after each treatment.

How much does a tummy tuck cost in the UK?

The NHS says it can cost from about £5,000 to £10,000, plus any consultations or follow-up care. It is regarded as cosmetic surgery, so it is not usually available on the NHS.

How many sessions will I need for loose stomach skin?

Most people notice change after 6 to 8 sessions, usually weekly, then monthly to maintain results. Moderate looseness usually takes a longer course. Your therapist gives you an honest estimate after assessing your skin.

Can you treat cellulite on my stomach as well?

Yes. The same session can work on dimpled skin on the stomach, as LPG improves the appearance of cellulite as well as skin firmness. See our cellulite treatment page.
