LPG Endermologie
If you have lost a lot of weight, or your skin has simply changed with age, you may be pricing up surgery for the first time. Published prices vary widely, and the headline figure is rarely the whole bill. This guide sets out typical UK ranges for loose skin removal surgery, including turkey neck and bingo wing surgery, what the NHS will and will not fund, and when a non-surgical option is worth a look.
Looseness mild rather than severe? Your first LPG Endermologie visit is a 60-minute Discovery Session for £99, including a consultation and a full treatment. Book online or call 020 4515 0000.
Quick answer
In the UK, a tummy tuck costs about £5,000 to £10,000, and arm and neck lifts are listed from about £3,000 to £3,500 up to around £9,500. The NHS rarely funds skin removal. If looseness is mild, LPG Endermologie at Omnia Lifestyle in Chiswick W4 is a non-surgical option, starting with a £99 Discovery Session.
How much does loose skin removal surgery cost in the UK?
These ranges come from the NHS where it publishes a figure, and otherwise from price listings on the WhatClinic directory, read on 4 November 2026. Directory prices are often starting prices from individual providers and carry no date, so treat them as a guide and get a written quote.
| Procedure | Treats | Typical UK price | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) | Loose skin on the stomach | About £5,000 to £10,000 | NHS |
| Arm lift (brachioplasty) | Bingo wings | Listed from about £3,500 to £8,800 | WhatClinic |
| Neck lift | Turkey neck | Listed from about £3,000 to £9,500 | WhatClinic |
| Face and neck lift | Jowls and neck | Up to about £10,000 | NHS |
| Thigh lift | Loose skin on the inner thighs | Listed from about £3,500 to £11,700 | WhatClinic |
| Liposuction, for comparison | Fat, not loose skin | About £3,000 to £8,500 | NHS |
The NHS figures come from pages last reviewed in 2023, so current prices may be higher.
How much does turkey neck surgery cost in the UK?
Turkey neck is usually treated with a neck lift, sometimes with a lower facelift. Directory listings run from about £3,000 to about £9,500. The NHS says you can expect to pay from a few thousand pounds for a mini facelift up to £10,000 for a face and neck lift, with consultations and follow-up care on top. Prices rise when surgery covers both the face and the neck. If you are at an earlier stage, read how to get rid of turkey neck first.
How much does bingo wing surgery cost in the UK?
Bingo wing surgery is an arm lift. Directory listings start at about £3,490, and individual prices run up to about £8,800. The Royal College of Surgeons and BAPRAS guide says it takes 1 to 2 hours, with 1 to 2 nights in hospital. The scar runs along the inner arm. For the exercise route first, see how to get rid of bingo wings.
What affects the price?
- How much surgery you need. A larger area takes longer in theatre.
- Anaesthetic and hospital stay. Overnight stays add to the bill.
- Consultations. The Private Healthcare Information Network says an initial consultation with a surgeon costs £150 to £250. The NHS notes that consultations and follow-up costs can be extra.
- Aftercare. Ask what is included: dressings, garments, follow-up visits, and what happens if a revision is needed.
- Time off work. The NHS suggests 4 to 6 weeks off work and exercise after a tummy tuck, which is a real cost if you are self-employed.
Can you get loose skin removal on the NHS?
Rarely. The NHS says cosmetic surgery is not routinely provided on the NHS, and that a tummy tuck is regarded as cosmetic surgery and is not usually available. It may occasionally be funded on psychological or other health grounds. Decisions are made locally by integrated care boards, and each has its own policy, so ask your GP what applies to you. Here are two examples:
- Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire. The board will not routinely fund cosmetic body contouring. Funding is generally limited to functional need, and needs an exceptional funding request before referral. Psychological distress alone will not normally be accepted.
- Cheshire and Merseyside. Arm, thigh and buttock lifts are not routinely commissioned, and are funded only in exceptional circumstances.
National surgical guidance gives a sense of what a strong case looks like. The criteria from BAPRAS, the plastic surgeons' association, include a high starting BMI, a BMI that has come down to around 28 to 30, weight that has been stable for 12 months, and significant physical and psychological problems. Meeting these does not mean funding will be granted.
What are the risks of skin removal surgery?
All of these operations leave permanent scars and carry the risks of any surgery. The Royal College of Surgeons and BAPRAS guide says up to 50% of patients will develop a complication after body contouring, although most are minor. These include bleeding, fluid collections, infection, slow healing, blood clots and asymmetry. Choose a qualified surgeon who is experienced in the procedure and insured. The NHS says you should be offered a cooling-off period after any consultation. Do not let a discount or deadline rush you.
Are there non-surgical options for loose skin?
Yes, for mild to moderate looseness. Surgery removes skin, while non-surgical treatments firm it. If your skin hangs in a fold, they will not give you the same result, and we will tell you so.
- Strength training. It fills out the area and costs little.
- LPG Endermologie. Motorised rollers and controlled suction work on the skin, with no needles, heat or downtime, using the Cellu M6 Infinity at our clinic. Most people notice change after 6 to 8 sessions. Evidence for LPG is mixed, results vary and no treatment is permanent.
- Radiofrequency and focused ultrasound. These heat deeper skin to prompt new collagen, and are often used on smaller areas.
At Omnia, the Discovery Session is £99 for 60 minutes, and follow-up sessions are 35 minutes for £70, 45 minutes for £90, 50 minutes for £100 and 60 minutes for £120. Who is surgery better for?
- Skin that hangs in folds, or causes rashes or soreness
- Skin that gets in the way of exercise, walking or clothing
- People at a stable weight who want a large change in one step and accept scarring
Non-surgical treatment is not for everyone either. LPG is not used on the abdomen in pregnancy, or with active cancer, an infection, phlebitis, a blood clot, open wounds or inflamed skin. With a circulatory or blood disorder, recent surgery, a pacemaker or an implanted device, get advice from your doctor or surgeon first.
Frequently asked questions
How much is loose skin surgery after weight loss?
A tummy tuck costs about £5,000 to £10,000 according to the NHS. Treating several areas costs more, whether in one operation or in stages.
Does the NHS remove excess skin after weight loss?
Only in limited cases, usually where there is a clear functional problem, a stable weight and local funding approval. Ask your GP about your integrated care board's policy.
How long should I wait after weight loss before surgery?
Your weight should be stable. BAPRAS criteria for NHS cases look for 12 months of stable weight, and your surgeon will advise you.
Is there finance for cosmetic surgery?
Some providers offer it. Check the total cost including interest, and avoid deciding under pressure.
Can you remove loose skin without surgery?
No. Only surgery removes skin. Non-surgical treatments can firm and smooth mild to moderate looseness.
