Typical prices
Outside London, 45 to 60 minute sessions are commonly £50 to £80. In London, £70 to £130 is typical, and specialist therapists working with post-surgical or lymphoedema clients may charge more. Compression therapy sessions using a suit such as Body Ballancer are usually cheaper per session, often £35 to £60, because they take less therapist time. Courses of five or ten sessions commonly bring the price down by 10 to 20 per cent.
What it costs at Omnia
Manual lymphatic drainage and Body Ballancer compression therapy at our Chiswick clinic are available as single sessions, courses and memberships. Current fees are listed on our lymphatic drainage page and confirmed when you book. Combined plans using both are common and priced accordingly.
How many sessions to budget for
A one-off session for a specific event is a single cost. For fluid retention or general heaviness, budget for four to six sessions. After surgery, surgeons often recommend six to twelve sessions over the first two months. For lymphoedema, ongoing maintenance is needed, so it is worth asking about membership pricing.
Training matters
Manual lymphatic drainage is a specific technique with recognised training routes such as Vodder, Leduc and Casley-Smith. A therapist without that training may deliver a light massage that feels similar but does not follow lymphatic anatomy. Ask what training the therapist has, particularly for post-surgical work.
Insurance
Lymphatic drainage is rarely covered by private health insurance for wellbeing use. Where it is prescribed as part of lymphoedema management or post-surgical recovery, some policies contribute. We provide receipts for claims.
