Not always. Manual lymphatic drainage is a specific, feather-light technique that follows the lymphatic pathways. Our therapists are trained in post-surgical lymphatic care and lymphoedema management, so the pressure is never deep or forceful.
It is not performed during active infection, acute deep vein thrombosis or untreated heart failure. Your therapist screens for these at the consultation, and post-surgical timing is agreed with your medical team.
