Questions about Sports Performance
What does Sports Performance test for?
Sports Performance measures 71 biomarkers across full blood count, heart and cholesterol, urinalysis, kidneys, liver, iron, muscle and joints, vitamins and minerals, thyroid, hormones, bone, stress, blood sugar and inflammation.
Do I need to fast before this test?
We recommend 8 to 12 hours without food beforehand, because the test includes glucose, cholesterol and triglyceride markers. Water is fine and helps the draw. We confirm this when you book and can offer an early appointment.
Do I need a GP referral?
No. You book directly with us, the sample is taken at our Chiswick clinic and we review the results with you. You receive a written report to share with your GP if anything needs following up.
What is included in the price?
The blood draw at the clinic, analysis at the Randox accredited laboratory, a practitioner review of every result and a written report, for £249. There are no hidden extras.
What if a result is outside the normal range?
A result outside the reference range is a prompt, not a diagnosis. Your practitioner explains what matters, what is borderline and what is worth rechecking. If anything needs a GP or specialist, we tell you clearly and give you a copy of the report.
