Questions

Acupuncture questions from Twickenham

Is there an acupuncture clinic near Twickenham?

Yes. Omnia Lifestyle is in Chiswick, W4, a direct ride on the 267 bus from Twickenham, or a train to Richmond and three stops on the District line.

Can acupuncture help running injuries?

Acupuncture is often used alongside exercise and physiotherapy for knee pain, plantar heel pain and muscle tension. Your doctor will tell you honestly whether it is likely to help your injury, and when another treatment would suit you better.

How often will I need to come?

Most acute problems respond within three to six sessions, usually one a week. Your doctor agrees a plan with you at the first visit, so you know how many trips to expect.

How much does acupuncture cost?

A 60-minute traditional acupuncture session is £80, fertility acupuncture is £90, acupuncture with Tui Na is £135 for 90 minutes and a 30-minute TCM consultation is £50. You pay after your appointment, with no deposit to book.

Does acupuncture hurt?

The needles are about the width of a hair. Most people feel a brief pinch and then warmth or heaviness, and many fall asleep during the 20 to 30 minutes the needles stay in.

Can I claim on my health insurance?

Many policies cover acupuncture. We provide itemised receipts for Aviva, AXA Health, Vitality, WPA and Simplyhealth. Check with your insurer first, as some need a referral or an authorisation code.
