Pregnancy blood test in London
A blood test measures the pregnancy hormone hCG directly and can pick it up at lower levels than most home urine tests. Book an appointment at our Chiswick clinic for £79, with no GP referral.
No fasting needed for this test.
Human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG) is the hormone made in pregnancy, and it is the hormone home pregnancy tests look for. A home test gives you a yes or no. A blood test gives you the actual amount of hCG in your blood, measured by our laboratory partner Randox.
In early pregnancy hCG usually rises quickly, so doctors often compare two samples taken 48 hours apart rather than relying on one number. Your results report shows your level with the laboratory reference range, ready to share with your GP, midwife or fertility clinic.
Every price includes the blood draw, laboratory analysis by Randox and your results report. GP feedback and GP consultations are available on request, at an extra cost. Appointments only.
You do not need to fast, and any appointment time is fine. Please tell us the date of your last period, whether you have had fertility treatment, and about any recent pregnancy. Stop biotin supplements for at least 48 hours beforehand, as biotin can affect some hormone tests. We see clients by appointment only.

Testing is carried out in partnership with Randox Clinical Laboratory Services, an ISO/IEC 15189 accredited laboratory (UKAS Lab ID 9329). GP feedback and GP consultations are available on request, at an extra cost.
These tests do not replace care from your GP. If you have worsening symptoms, unexplained weight loss, bleeding or severe pain, please see a doctor first.

In early pregnancy hCG usually rises quickly. Comparing two levels taken 48 hours apart shows how it is changing, which tells your doctor more than a single number. We can book both appointments for you.
