What it treats

What does acupuncture help with?

Tap a point on the figure, or open an area below. Every condition links to its own page.

The most common reason people come to us. Acupuncture is recognised in NHS guidance for certain chronic pain conditions, and needling points that influence circulation and nervous-system regulation can ease persistent tension and nerve irritation.

Headaches are among the most studied uses of acupuncture, and migraine relief is one of the most frequent reasons for a course of treatment.

Traditional Chinese Medicine treats the body as a system. Fertility support is one of the most researched areas of acupuncture, and internal imbalances are assessed alongside whatever brought you in.

Sessions encourage the release of endorphins and a calmer nervous system, which is why many clients describe treatment as deeply restorative.

Improved blood flow and reduced inflammation around specific joints, often alongside physiotherapy or manual therapy in one plan.

Questions people ask

Most people feel minimal to no pain. The needles are extremely fine, much thinner than injection needles. A slight tingling, warmth or dull sensation is a normal therapeutic response.

Our fees are published in full above and confirmed when you book, with no hidden extras. A course is reviewed at session three, so you never pay for more sessions than you need.

Yes, when performed by trained practitioners. We use sterile, single-use needles and follow strict clinical protocols to ensure safety and hygiene.

Sciatica and nerve pain are among the most common reasons people book with us. Acupuncture is recognised in NHS guidance for certain chronic pain conditions, and your practitioner will assess honestly at the first session whether it is the right route for your case.

It depends on your condition, its severity and your goals. Some people feel improvement after a few sessions, while chronic conditions may need a course of treatment for lasting results. We review progress at session three.

A growing body of research shows acupuncture can influence the nervous system, reduce inflammation and stimulate natural healing. It is recommended by organisations such as the NHS for certain conditions like chronic pain.

Yes. Cupping is part of our Traditional Chinese Medicine clinic and is often used alongside needling within the same session, where your practitioner judges it appropriate.

Why Omnia

Reproductive health is a specialism here, not a sideline

Fertility acupuncture at Omnia is delivered by practitioners for whom women’s and reproductive health is a named clinical specialisation. Dr Shufen Zhang brings more than 35 years of Chinese medicine practice covering fertility support, endometriosis, PCOS and menstrual health; Dr Jialin Zhu spent over a decade in Shanghai hospital practice with the same reproductive focus. You are treated by doctors who have supported these journeys many times before.

And because we are a multidisciplinary clinic, your acupuncture can sit alongside blood testing and lifestyle support under one roof, coordinated rather than fragmented.

02

How it is used

What fertility acupuncture involves, honestly

Sessions are aligned to your cycle, with points chosen for where you are in it and what your presentation shows. Many people use acupuncture through natural conception attempts; many others use it alongside IVF or IUI, including sessions timed around treatment milestones, always coordinated with what your fertility clinic advises.

We are honest about the evidence: research into acupuncture and fertility is ongoing and findings are mixed, and no practitioner can promise conception. What acupuncture reliably offers is deep relaxation during one of life’s most stressful experiences, support with sleep, cycle-related symptoms and general wellbeing, and a practitioner who listens properly. At your consultation we will tell you plainly what it can and cannot do for your situation.

People come to us whenTrying to conceive naturally, preparing for or going through IVF or IUI, managing PCOS or endometriosis alongside fertility plans, dealing with irregular cycles, or simply needing calm and support through the process.
Your first visitA full consultation covering your history, cycle and any fertility treatment underway, pulse and tongue diagnosis, then a clear plan: session rhythm, timing against your cycle or treatment calendar, and honest expectations.

Common questions

Fertility acupuncture: your questions

Does acupuncture improve fertility?
We will give you the honest answer rather than the marketing one: research is ongoing and findings are mixed, and nobody can promise conception. What it reliably provides is deep relaxation, support with sleep and cycle symptoms, and structured care through a stressful process. At consultation we discuss what the evidence does and does not support for your specific situation.
Can I have acupuncture during IVF?
Yes, many of our clients do, and we time sessions around your clinic’s treatment calendar. We always work alongside your fertility clinic’s guidance, never against it.
When in my cycle should I start?
You can start at any point; your practitioner adapts to where you are. If you are planning around IVF or IUI, starting a few weeks before treatment allows a settled rhythm, but this is discussed case by case.
Is acupuncture safe if I become pregnant?
Acupuncture is widely used in pregnancy with appropriately trained practitioners. Tell your practitioner as soon as you know, and point selection is adapted accordingly.
Can my partner come too?
Yes. Acupuncture and lifestyle support are available for men as well, and fertility is often best supported as a shared project.
How do I book?
Book online in under a minute or call 020 4515 0000. We are at 8-9 Bedford Corner, The Avenue, Chiswick W4 1LZ.
