Why home visits cost more
The practitioner travels to you, sets up and packs down, and cannot see another client in the travel time. A 60-minute treatment at home takes closer to two hours of practitioner time. The supplement covers that rather than being a premium for convenience.
Typical UK prices
Home physiotherapy: £80 to £150 per session depending on area and length. Home acupuncture: £70 to £130. Home massage and manual therapy: £70 to £120. Some providers charge a flat fee including travel; others add a supplement to the clinic price. Longer distances cost more, and some areas of London have a minimum booking.
What it costs at Omnia
Home visits from our Chiswick clinic start from £110 for a 60-minute session, for addresses within roughly five miles, covering Hammersmith, Ealing, Richmond, Kew, Acton, Brentford and surrounding areas. The exact fee depends on the treatment and distance and is confirmed when you book. Courses of home visits are available for post-surgical rehabilitation and ongoing care, and courses reduce the per-visit cost.
Insurance
Where physiotherapy is covered by your policy, home visit physiotherapy is often covered at the same rate as clinic visits, sometimes requiring a note that home treatment is clinically necessary. Travel supplements are usually not covered. Check your policy wording and we will provide the paperwork.
How to keep costs down
Book a course rather than single visits. Combine treatments in one visit where appropriate, for example physiotherapy with acupuncture. Move to clinic visits as soon as travel is practical, since the clinic gives access to equipment-based treatments as well.
