After surgery and illness
The first weeks after a hip or knee replacement, spinal surgery, a fracture or a serious illness are when physiotherapy matters most and travelling is hardest. Home visits let rehabilitation start on time and progress in the environment where you actually live: your stairs, your chair, your bed.
Older adults and mobility
For anyone who finds travel tiring, unsteady on their feet, or dependent on others for transport, treatment at home removes the barrier that stops care happening. Vestibular assessment for dizziness is a common home visit for exactly this reason.
Chronic pain and fatigue
When a clinic visit costs a day of energy, home treatment makes regular care possible. Acupuncture, manual therapy and Ayurvedic massage all translate well to home.
Parents, carers and the time-poor
A treatment at home during a nap or a lunch break happens; a clinic appointment across town often does not.
Preference
Some people simply prefer to be treated at home and rest afterwards, particularly for acupuncture and Ayurvedic massage where the after-treatment calm is part of the benefit.
When clinic is better
Where the treatment needs equipment that does not travel, where a full gym-based rehabilitation programme is the goal, or where the clinic's combination of services in one visit is the point. Many people start with home visits and move to clinic as mobility improves.
