LPG Endermologie
A non-surgical facelift is not one treatment. The phrase covers anything that aims to lift or firm the face without an operation, from focused ultrasound to fillers. Which one is best for jowls depends on why yours formed. We offer one of these options ourselves, LPG Endermologie, so we have compared them by treatment type against published evidence, and we name no clinics. For causes and home care, read our guide to how to get rid of jowls.
Want a straight answer on your jawline? Your first LPG Endermologie visit is a 60-minute Discovery Session for £99, including a consultation and a full treatment. Book online or call 020 4515 0000.
Quick answer
The best non-surgical facelift for jowls depends on the cause. Focused ultrasound and radiofrequency tighten mild laxity, fillers replace lost volume, and LPG Endermologie at Omnia Lifestyle in Chiswick W4 firms skin with no needles or heat, although its evidence is limited. Heavy jowls are lifted best by a surgical lower facelift.
What is a non-surgical facelift?
It is a general term, not a medical procedure. It usually means a treatment that heats the deeper skin, adds volume or lifts tissue, with less recovery than surgery. None of these treatments removes skin, and none gives the same change as a facelift. Used in the right person, they can soften jowls and sharpen the jaw for a while.
Why does the cause of your jowls matter?
- Loose or crepey skin. Skin-firming treatments are the logical choice.
- Lost volume in the cheeks. Fillers replace what has gone.
- Fat along the jaw. Tightening skin may help less, and it is worth asking a clinician about the cause.
- Heavy, hanging tissue. Surgery is the realistic option.
Best non-surgical facelift for jowls: the comparison
Evidence labels are our plain-English reading of the sources below. Moderate means systematic reviews with useful results but real limits. Limited means small studies or manufacturer data.
| Treatment type | Evidence level | May suit | Recovery and main limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Focused ultrasound (HIFU) | Moderate | Mild to moderate laxity | Short recovery with redness or swelling. Results beyond 12 months not established; operator skill matters |
| Radiofrequency, including microneedling | Moderate | Mild to moderate laxity, texture | Short recovery, longer with needling. Devices and settings vary widely |
| Dermal fillers | Widely used | Lost volume, not loose skin | Bruising and swelling. Last 6 to 18 months; rare but serious risks |
| Thread lifts | Limited | People wanting a short-term lift | Bruising possible. Long-term data lacking; asymmetry is a known side effect |
| LPG Endermologie for face and neck | Limited | Mild jowls; no needles or heat wanted | No downtime. Needs a course and maintenance; independent data is thin |
| Facial exercises and massage | Limited | Prevention, habit | No downtime. Small studies; local improvements only |
| Lower facelift, for comparison | Surgery | Heavy jowls | About 2 to 4 weeks. Scars, surgical risks, cost up to about £10,000 |
Is a HIFU facelift the best option for jowls?
It has some of the better evidence, but it is not magic. A 2025 systematic review in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal, covering 45 studies, reported improvements in skin laxity of 18% to 30% across the lower face and neck. It also said that long-term efficacy beyond 12 months has not been established, protocols are not standardised, and operator skill is critical. A 2020 meta-analysis described the improvement as moderate, with objective scores of about 2.7 out of 5.
Does radiofrequency work for jowls?
Radiofrequency heats the deeper skin to prompt new collagen, and microneedling versions deliver that heat through fine needles. A 2026 systematic review says evidence has been fragmented, because studies use different devices for different problems. Cleveland Clinic's general warning applies here too: brochures for nonsurgical treatments commonly promise great results, but changes are often subtle.
Do fillers or threads lift jowls?
Fillers do not lift loose skin directly. Placed in the cheeks or along the jaw, they can replace volume and improve the line of the jaw. The Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners says they last 6 to 18 months on average. Common effects include bruising and swelling, and filler that blocks a blood vessel can cause scarring, tissue loss or blindness, which is why training matters so much. Omnia does not offer injectables.
Thread lifts give a temporary lift. A 2021 literature review found that serious long-term studies on longevity and satisfaction were lacking, and another 2021 review questioned their effectiveness and identified asymmetry as the most common side effect. They are worth a careful conversation with a doctor.
Where does LPG Endermologie fit for jowls?
LPG is one option, and it is not the strongest on evidence. It uses a fine treatment head to work the skin of the jaw, cheeks and neck, with no needles, no heat and no downtime. LPG Systems has published its own facial data, and our jowls guide summarises it as manufacturer figures. Independent evidence on facial LPG is thin, and research on LPG overall is mixed.
So why might you choose it? Mainly because you have mild jowls or early softening of the jawline, you do not want needles or heat, you would rather have a gentle treatment you can repeat, and you accept that results are gradual and need upkeep. At Omnia, your first visit is a 60-minute Discovery Session for £99, then follow-up sessions from £70, on the Cellu M6 Infinity. Most people notice change after 6 to 8 sessions, then a weekly course and monthly maintenance. Results vary, and no treatment is permanent. See non-surgical facelift in London for how a course is planned.
When is a facelift the better option?
If your jowls are heavy or hang well below the jaw, or the neck is very loose, no non-surgical treatment will match surgery. The NHS says a facelift takes 2 to 3 hours, with about 2 to 4 weeks to recover and 6 to 9 months to see the final result. Costs run to about £10,000 for a face and neck lift. Risks include nerve injury, scars and asymmetry. If you are close to this point, spending on repeated non-surgical treatment may not be good value, and we will say so.
What should you ask before booking?
- What is causing my jowls: skin, volume or heavier tissue?
- What result is realistic for me, and how long will it last?
- Who carries out the treatment, and what is their training?
- What are the risks, and who deals with a complication?
Who is LPG Endermologie not for?
- LPG Endermologie is not used on the abdomen in pregnancy.
- It is not suitable with active cancer, an infection, phlebitis or a blood clot, open wounds or inflamed skin.
- If you have a circulatory or blood disorder, recent surgery, a pacemaker or an implanted device, get advice from your doctor or surgeon first.
- See your GP about any new lump, swelling or unexplained skin change on the face or neck.
- If your jowls are heavy, LPG will not replace surgery.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best non-surgical facelift?
There is no single best one. Focused ultrasound and radiofrequency have more research for laxity, fillers help lost volume, and LPG suits people who want no needles or heat.
Can jowls be fixed without surgery?
Mild to moderate jowls can be improved. Heavy jowls cannot be fully corrected without surgery.
How long does a non-surgical facelift last?
It depends on the treatment. Fillers last 6 to 18 months on average, and research on focused ultrasound has not established results beyond 12 months. LPG needs maintenance.
Does LPG Endermologie use needles or heat?
No. It uses controlled suction and mechanical action, with no needles, heat or downtime.
Which non-surgical treatment is safest for jowls?
All treatments carry some risk. Options with no needles or heat carry fewer serious risks, but they also tend to give smaller changes. Ask your practitioner about risks that apply to you.
