From light to ATP

Red and near-infrared light is absorbed by mitochondria and turned into ATP — the energy every repair process runs on. One mechanism, which is why it shows up in so many use cases.

How the light reaches you

Red works at the surface — skin, collagen, healing. Near-infrared travels deeper into muscle and joint, which is what makes recovery and pain work possible.

How mitochondria turn it into ATP

Before you book

Is red light therapy safe?

Yes. Photobiomodulation has a strong safety record and no UV component. You wear protective eyewear, the session is warm rather than hot, and there is no downtime. Tell us at booking if you are pregnant, photosensitive, taking photosensitising medication or under oncology care, and we will check suitability first.

Does red light therapy cause cancer?

No. The wavelengths used contain no UV, which is the part of light linked to skin cancer, and the research to date shows no cancer risk. If you are currently under oncology care, tell us at booking and we will check suitability with you before your first session.

How many sessions will I need?

Most goals respond best to two or three sessions a week for several weeks, then maintenance. One session is pleasant; a course is what produces measurable change, which is why the membership is built around eight sessions a month.

How does the £28 per session work?

£28 is the effective price per session on Omnia Red: £225 a month for eight NovoTHOR sessions. Pay as you go, a single session is £70, or £79 with a consultation. If you plan to come two or three times a week, which is what the research is based on, the membership is the far cheaper route.

NovoTHOR treats the whole body at once in about twenty minutes: recovery, energy, skin, sleep, widespread pain. THOR laser concentrates the dose on a single joint, tendon or area, and is also used in dentistry, including for oral mucositis and TMJ jaw pain. Many clients run both; we map it out at your first visit.

What do I wear?

As little as you are comfortable in, since light reaches skin, not fabric. Underwear is fine for most people. Protective eyewear is provided.

How does the membership work, and can I cancel?

Omnia Red is billed monthly with a three-month minimum, then continues on a rolling monthly basis. Cancel with 14 days’ notice before your next billing date. Sessions are booked in advance and do not roll over. The full terms are here.
