What the evidence shows
Endermologie uses motorised rollers and suction to mechanically stimulate the skin and the connective tissue beneath it. Clinical studies, including trials with the M6 system, have shown improved skin texture, reduced appearance of dimpling, and increased skin elasticity after courses of 10 to 15 sessions, with measurable changes in tissue firmness. It has regulatory clearance in several countries for temporary reduction in the appearance of cellulite, which is an accurate description of what it does.
What it does not do
It does not remove fat, and it is not a weight-loss treatment. Cellulite is a structural feature of connective tissue and fat distribution that is largely determined by genetics and hormones; no treatment removes it permanently. Endermologie improves how the skin looks and feels, and the improvement fades over months without maintenance.
Who responds best
People with mild to moderate cellulite, reasonable skin tone, and a stable weight tend to see the clearest change. Loose skin after weight loss also responds. Very fibrous, long-standing cellulite improves less. Smoking, dehydration and inactivity all reduce results.
A realistic course
Two sessions a week for the first four to six weeks, then one a week, with a review at session six. Most trials measure results after 12 to 15 sessions. Maintenance is typically one session every three to four weeks.
At Omnia
We use the M6 Cellu Infinity at our Chiswick clinic. A 60-minute Discovery Session, currently £99, includes a consultation, tissue assessment and a full treatment so you can judge for yourself before committing to a course. We will tell you honestly whether your cellulite is the kind that responds.
