Frequently asked

Can LPG treat the bum?

The short answer

Yes. LPG Endermologie can treat the bum, including the buttocks and hips, to smooth the skin and improve the appearance of cellulite. It does not add volume or replace glute training. At Omnia Lifestyle in Chiswick W4, your first visit is a 60-minute Discovery Session for £99, and most people notice change after 6 to 8 sessions.

What LPG does on the buttocks and hips

Motorised rollers and controlled suction lift and roll the skin across the buttocks, the hips and the area where they meet the thighs. The aim is smoother skin and a softer look to dimpling, with no needles, no heat and no downtime. You lie on a treatment couch throughout, and your therapist adjusts the settings to your tissue and your comfort.

What it cannot do

LPG does not add volume, lift the buttocks in the way surgery can, or remove fat. Some people find their skin looks firmer and their shape looks more even, but it is not a non-surgical bum lift. Strength work such as bridges, hip thrusts and lunges usually makes the biggest difference to shape here, so we encourage you to keep it going during a course.

Sessions and cost

Most people notice change after 6 to 8 sessions. Stubborn or fibrous cellulite usually takes around 10 to 12, then monthly maintenance. Follow-up sessions start at £70 for 35 minutes. Results vary, and evidence for LPG is mixed, so read what the research says before you decide.

Who this is not for

LPG is not suitable with active cancer, an infection, phlebitis or a blood clot, open wounds or inflamed skin. If you have a circulatory or blood disorder, recent surgery, a pacemaker or an implanted device, ask your doctor or surgeon first. Pain in the buttock or pain running down the leg needs checking by a GP or a physiotherapist first, as LPG is not a treatment for it. See your GP about any unexplained swelling, pain or skin change.
