A small but common question before a first physiotherapy appointment: what should you actually wear?
General guidance
- Loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy movement
- Shorts or leggings if your appointment involves your knee, hip or leg
- A t-shirt or vest top if your appointment involves your shoulder, neck or back
- Trainers or flat, comfortable shoes
Why it matters
Your physiotherapist will often need to see and assess the affected area directly, and may ask you to move through certain positions. Comfortable, appropriate clothing makes this easier and more accurate.
