Fertility panel with chlamydia and gonorrhoea test in Chiswick

A 58-marker fertility and general health panel with a confidential chlamydia and gonorrhoea test on a urine or swab sample, for people planning a pregnancy who want hormones and sexual health checked in one visit.

What the test measures

This panel combines a broad fertility and health screen with a sexual health check. The hormone section covers FSH, LH, oestradiol, progesterone, prolactin, testosterone, SHBG and the free androgen index, plus cortisol and DHEA-S. A thyroid profile with antibodies is included, as thyroid function can affect fertility and pregnancy.

General health markers include a full blood count, cholesterol, glucose, HbA1c and insulin, liver and kidney chemistry, CRP, a full iron profile, B12, folic acid and vitamin D. Chlamydia and gonorrhoea are tested by a sensitive nucleic acid test on a urine sample or swab. Both infections often cause no symptoms but, left untreated, can affect fertility.

Your price includes the sample taken at our Chiswick clinic, analysis at the Randox accredited laboratory, a practitioner review of your result and a GP feedback report on request. Your sexual health result is handled confidentially and without judgement.

Who it is for

  • You are planning a pregnancy and want a broad health and hormone check first.
  • You would like a chlamydia and gonorrhoea test as part of your preconception plans.
  • You have irregular cycles and want hormones, thyroid and metabolic markers looked at together.
  • You have a new partner and want reassurance before trying to conceive.
  • You want to check folate, iron and vitamin D before pregnancy.

Understanding your result

Your hormone results depend on the day of your cycle, so your practitioner reads them in that context, along with thyroid function, blood sugar and nutrients. Results outside the laboratory reference range can point to areas to look at more closely, such as ovulation, thyroid health or iron stores.

Chlamydia and gonorrhoea are reported as detected or not detected. Both are treatable, and if either is found, your practitioner will explain the next steps, including treatment and telling partners. Any result outside the range is a prompt for discussion, not a diagnosis of infertility or any other condition.

Preparing for your test

Fast for 8 to 10 hours with water only and book a morning appointment, as glucose, insulin and cortisol need this. If your cycle is regular, book on day 2 to 5, or ask us about a later day if you want progesterone to check ovulation; we will confirm timing when you book. For the urine sample, do not pass urine for at least one hour beforehand and collect the first part of the stream. Chlamydia and gonorrhoea are reliably detected from about two weeks after exposure. If you take biotin, pause it for two days where safe.

If you also want ovarian reserve checked, the Fertility Panel with AMH includes AMH. For a broader sexual health check, see our STI tests, or browse every blood test and price in Chiswick.
