How the assessment works
You sit quietly with sensors on your wrists for around five minutes while the device records your heart rhythm, in the same way an ECG does. Software analyses the variability between beats and produces a set of indices: the balance between the stress and recovery branches of the nervous system, overall adaptive capacity, an estimate of physiological age, and markers of fatigue and energy. A second layer interprets the same data through the framework of Ayurvedic pulse diagnosis, indicating which dosha appears dominant or aggravated at that moment.
What the data is
The heart rate variability measurement is standard physiology, used in cardiology and sports science, and the device's ECG-quality recording is reliable. The Ayurvedic interpretation is a model applied to that data: useful as a structured way of reading it, not a laboratory test for doshas.
What it is used for
Giving an Ayurvedic consultation an objective starting point. Tracking how the nervous system responds to treatment such as Shirodhara, Abhyanga or a Panchakarma programme. Monitoring stress, recovery and sleep quality over time. Guiding lifestyle, breathing and herbal recommendations. Identifying when someone is more depleted than they realise.
What it is not
A diagnostic tool for disease. It does not detect heart conditions, and any irregular rhythm it picks up should be assessed by a doctor.
