Common and mild
Pink or flushed skin in the treated area, which fades within a couple of hours and is a sign that circulation has increased. A feeling of warmth. Needing to pass urine more often after a session as lymphatic drainage moves fluid. Mild tenderness the next day, similar to after a firm massage, mainly in the first two or three sessions.
Occasional
Small bruises, usually in people who bruise easily, are on blood thinners, or where the tissue was treated at higher intensity. These fade within days and settings can be reduced. Temporary tiredness after a full-body session in some people.
Rare
Skin irritation from the body suit in people with very sensitive skin. Broken capillaries in people with fragile skin or pre-existing thread veins, which is why those areas are treated at lower intensity or avoided.
Not side effects
Endermologie does not cause fat to move elsewhere, does not damage the skin, and does not cause loose skin. These are myths.
Reducing side effects
Drink water before and after, tell your practitioner about medication and how easily you bruise, and start at moderate intensity and build up. Avoid very hot baths or saunas immediately after treatment.
When to contact us
Bruising that is extensive or spreading, pain rather than tenderness, or skin changes that persist beyond a few days should be reported. These are very unlikely. At our Chiswick clinic every client is screened before a first session, and our practitioners adjust the M6 Cellu Infinity settings to your skin.
