FAQs

Good to know

Acupuncture needles are hair-thin, far finer than the needles used for injections. Most people feel little more than a brief tap or a dull, heavy sensation as the point is stimulated, and many find the treatment deeply relaxing.

This depends on the condition and how long you've had it. Some people feel a difference after one or two sessions, while chronic issues typically respond best to a short course of weekly treatments. Your practitioner will discuss a plan at your first visit.

Eat a light meal beforehand rather than arriving hungry or overly full, and wear loose, comfortable clothing. Afterwards, most people can return straight to normal activities, though we'd suggest taking it easy and staying hydrated for the rest of the day.

Yes. All our practitioners are fully qualified and registered with the UK's leading professional bodies, and use single-use, sterile, disposable needles for every patient. Acupuncture is widely recognised as a safe treatment when performed by a trained practitioner.

Acupuncture is commonly used to support fertility and can be used safely during pregnancy with a practitioner experienced in this area. Let your practitioner know as early as possible so your treatment can be tailored accordingly.

No referral is needed — you can book directly with us. If you have a specific medical condition, it's always a good idea to keep your GP informed, especially if you're receiving other treatment alongside acupuncture.

We work with a number of major insurers, including Aviva, AXA, Simply Health, WPA and Vitality Health, and more. Coverage varies by policy, so please get in touch and we'll help you check what's included.
