Every condition has a story. We start by listening to yours.

Dr Sukul does not only ask what you have. He asks what may be contributing to it. Choose what is closest to your situation to see how he thinks about it.

Prof (Dr) Diwakar Sukul

Dr Sukul founded the Kamkus Clinic on Harley Street in 1998 on an idea that was unusual then and is still rare now: that a doctor, a psychologist and a complementary practitioner should assess the same person and then agree one plan between them.

He is the creator of Multi-Dimensional Healthcare™, the Body Mind Energy (BME) Assessment™, Mind Body Harmonics™, Vedic Psychotherapy and Mind-Body Connective Therapy™. His background spans clinical psychology, psychotherapy, Ericksonian hypnotherapy and addiction treatment.

He received international recognition for his work with alcohol and drug addiction at Turning Point UK, where he combined Eastern and Western approaches. He is also trained as a Field Traumatologist, Compassion Fatigue Educator and Thought Field Therapist, and has taught, published and trained other professionals in the UK and abroad.

The focus should never be on which therapy is right. It should be on what is most likely to help the individual recover and thrive.

In sessions he is practical. He looks for the cause of the difficulty, explains what he sees in plain language, and teaches techniques you can use yourself. The aim is for you to need him less over time, not more.

Multi-Dimensional Healthcare Assessment™

Three clinicians. One review. One written recovery plan.

£1,500

One fee covers all three assessments, the review and your plan.

  • Medical assessment with a doctor or consultant psychiatrist
  • Psychological assessment with a psychologist
  • Functional and lifestyle assessment with an Ayurvedic physician, acupuncturist or wellbeing practitioner
  • Clinical Integration Review™ led by Dr Sukul as Clinical Director
  • A written Personalised Recovery Plan™ that sets out what is recommended and how many sessions it should take
Book the assessment
Start with a consultation if one thing is troubling you and you want to begin working on it with an experienced clinical psychologist.
Choose the assessment if you have tried therapy or medication before and it has not held, if several things are tangled together (mood, sleep, pain, gut, energy), or if you want it understood properly once.

The Multi-Dimensional Healthcare Assessment™, £1,500

Three specialists look at you from three angles. Then they agree one plan.

Think of it as three expert opinions in one go, except the experts actually talk to each other. Walk through it in four short steps.

For South Asian individuals and families

Therapy where you do not have to explain your culture first

Many South Asian clients say the same thing about therapy in the UK: the first sessions go on explaining. Why moving out is not simple. Why a decision about marriage or career is not yours alone. Why what the community thinks carries real weight.

Dr Sukul understands both worlds. He trained and is chartered in the UK, and his clinical work has always drawn on Eastern as well as Western psychology, including the Vedic psychotherapy he developed. You can start from where you actually are.

Sessions are confidential and can take place by video from your own home. Nobody in your family or community needs to know unless you choose to tell them.

      • “What will people say?”Stigma, family reputation, and the habit of keeping struggles hidden.
      • “After everything we sacrificed for you.”Duty, guilt and the weight of expectations around career, marriage and care for parents.
      • “I am one person at home and another outside.”Identity and belonging for those raised between two cultures.
      • “We do not talk about that in our family.”Addiction, anger, depression or relationship breakdown carried in silence, sometimes for years.

      • A copy by email, with Dr Sukul's short guide to the four dimensions and what helps in each

      Questions people ask before booking

      What does it cost?

The initial consultation with Dr Sukul is £300. Follow-up sessions are £225. The Multi-Dimensional Healthcare Assessment™ is £1,500, which covers all three clinical assessments, the Clinical Integration Review™ and your written Personalised Recovery Plan™.

Treatment that follows an assessment is set out and priced in your plan, so you see the cost before you decide.

What happens in the initial consultation?

Dr Sukul takes a detailed history and explores what may be contributing to the difficulty, not only the symptoms. By the end you will know how he understands the problem, what he recommends and roughly how long it should take. Most people also leave with techniques they can begin using that day.

Do I need the full assessment, or is a consultation enough?

For most people a consultation is the right start. The full assessment suits people whose difficulties are long-standing or complex, who have tried treatment before without lasting change, or whose mental health seems tied up with physical symptoms such as poor sleep, pain, fatigue or gut problems. If you begin with a consultation and Dr Sukul thinks the assessment would help, he will say so.

Who carries out the three assessments?

A medical doctor or consultant psychiatrist, a psychologist, and an Ayurvedic physician, acupuncturist or wellbeing practitioner. Dr Sukul then leads the Clinical Integration Review™ as Clinical Director, where the clinicians compare findings and agree your plan.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on what you are dealing with, and Dr Sukul will give you an honest estimate after the first consultation. His approach is to address causes and teach you to manage triggers yourself. The aim is never to keep you in therapy longer than necessary.

      How do sessions take place?

The initial consultation and follow-up sessions with Dr Sukul take place by secure video call. Many clients prefer this: there is no travel, no waiting room, and nobody sees you arrive. All you need is a quiet, private space and a phone or laptop.

Can I use private health insurance?

Dr Sukul is recognised by major insurers including Bupa, AXA, Aviva, Vitality and Healix. Cover for psychology varies by policy, so please check with your insurer and obtain an authorisation code before you book.

Do I need a referral from my GP?

No. You can book directly. With your consent, Dr Sukul can write to your GP so your care stays joined up.

      Is it confidential?

Yes. Dr Sukul is bound by the professional standards of the HCPC and the British Psychological Society. What you discuss stays between you and him, within the usual legal limits around serious risk of harm, which he will explain at the start.
